Classes Join Forces to Keep Animals Warm at the Humane Society

Several classes at the Absecon Public Schools collaborated and worked together for two days to complete their Service Learning Project by making 30 blankets for the cats and dogs at the Humane Society of Atlantic County - Atlantic City location.

The students worked in groups to measure, cut, and tie fabric together to make blankets for the animals to help keep them warm during the winter. The students from Kindergarten through 8th grade did an amazing job helping design and create these blankets while practicing daily life skills.

Mrs. Caputo, Mrs. Irwin, and Ms. Okoszko's class were recognized by the Humane Society of Atlantic County for continuing their service and support.

These classes will continue working together throughout the 2019-2020 school year by continuing to make blankets (in February and April) and by continuously donating newspaper and other materials for the animals at the shelter.
